| Bei
"Aconcagua" handelt es sich um eine Kopie (wenn auch ohne Looping) der
"Nessie" im "Hansapark" in Sierksdorf, Deutschland. Sie wurde an den
"Parque de la Ciudad" (ex-"Interama") in Buenos Aires, Argentinien als
"Speedracer" ausgeliefert, hat allerdings optisch nichts mit den
"Speedracern" der ersten Generation (1971 bis 1976) gemein. Sie unterscheidet sich durch einen geraden Kettenlift an Stelle des typischen Spiralturms und durch ein anderes Schienensystem, welches zum Beispiel auch beim "Looping Star" verwendet wurde. Außerdem wurden die neueren, multi-sektionalen Züge eingesetzt. Ein weiterer "Speedracer" eröffnete 1981 in der "Entertainment City" in Doha Valley, Kuwait. Diese Anlage war lange Zeit ein Mysterium, da leider nicht viel darüber in Erfahrung zu bringen war. Während des Golfkrieges wurden Teile des Parks zerstört, aber jedoch wieder aufgebaut. | "Aconcagua" is a non-looping clone of the "Nessie"
coaster which stands at
"Hansapark" in Sierksdorf, Germany. The coaster was delivered to "Parque de la Ciudad" (ex-"Interama")
in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a "Speedracer", but
it has not much to do with the typical "Speedracers" of the
first generation (1971 - 1976). Differences are a straight chain-lift instead the typical spiral lift-hill and another tracksystem, which is for example known from the "Looping Star". Furthermore they run the newer, multi-sectional trains. Another "Speedracer" opened in 1981 at the "Entertainment City" in Doha Valley, Kuwait. This coaster was something like a mysterium for a long time, because unfortunately less information is given. During the gulf-war, parts of the amusement park have been destroyed but the park reopened. I'd have to thank Steven Wilson and Sebastian Vilas for their photos of "Aconcagua". |
